More alternatives

Las Palmas is practically two cities in one: the old districts of Vegueta and Triana, and the "modern" city center where you find the Santa Catalina Park, the Las Canteras Beach, and the Shopping District.

Going to the center gives you a lot more options; there are hundreds of bars, pubs, and nightclubs to choose from. Just hop on any bus going towards Santa Catalina, and you are there in 15 minutes.

Here´s a few options:

  • Bar Guincho in San Telmo is the cheapest place to get totally wasted in reasonable safety. Eclectic mix of students, hippies, and old alcoholics. Also: cheap hamburgers and good bocadillos until 3:30 in the morning.
  • Kopa is an enormous outdoors nightclub by the port. Age is 24+. Mainstream music (latino, Reggaeton). Suntans and bling.
  • TAO Club - pretend upscale nightclub, older crowd. Mainstream. Designed to empty your wallet.
  • Bravia - kind of upscale place. Ccrowd is on the younger side. Dress nicely. Mainstream music.
  • Bar San Remo in Secretario Artilles is where to go if you want to meet internationals. Cheap drinks, loud atmosphere, and people from all around the world.
  • Discoteca La Biblioteca in Vegueta is a small mainstream cocktail bar. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
